The third annual Crab Carnival launched at Balcony Bar in Byron Bay over the weekend. Running for the whole month of April, the Crab Carnival celebrates one of chef Sean Connolly’s passions – the local mud crab, which Sean says is the best in the world.

Crabby themed Husk Distillers cocktail specials will be flowing all April, with Ink Gin once again featured in A Cracking Good Thyme with peach, thyme and tonic, and Spiced Bam Bam being showcased in Bam Bam Thank You Ma’am with ginger, lemon and pineapple.

Edwina and Harriet were lucky enough to attend the launch party and sample the whole menu – from crab risotto to chilli mud crab. The stand outs were the soft shell crab sliders and the Crabby Long Legs (crispy salt & pepper crab legs).
