Planter’s Kitchen Summer Menu Has Arrived

Fresh, local, colourful – and our most exciting menu yet!

Summer has officially landed at Husk Farm Distillery, and with it, a brand new menu at Planter’s Kitchen that we’re incredibly proud to share. This season, our food and drinks team have taken things up a level – drawing inspiration from the garden just outside our kitchen, the farms around us, and the vibrant flavours of Chef Suchada’s Thai heritage.

If you’ve visited us before, you’ll know that our menu always begins with what we can harvest, forage, or source locally. This year, the gardens are overflowing, the citrus is fragrant, and the kitchen is buzzing with creativity. The result? A summer menu that feels bright, generous and totally unique to Husk.

A menu rooted in the garden – and in Thai soul food

Chef Suchada’s dishes are known for their balance of freshness, aroma and warmth, and this menu is no exception. One of the early crowd-pleasers is the grass-fed braised beef, cooked low and slow in a homemade master ginger caramel stock. This is a traditional Thai-style “master stock” – built up over time, richer and more aromatic with every batch. It’s savoury, slightly sweet, deeply comforting and already becoming a favourite among our regulars.

Of course, we haven’t let go of the classics. The dishes you tell us you can’t live without – like our hot honey halloumi and those addictive croc bites – are still very much here for you.

New cocktails that feel like summer in a glass

Meanwhile at the bar, Head Barman Rory has been working away on a refreshed cocktail list that blends nostalgia, technique and a good dose of Husk playfulness.

His new Caramello Old Fashioned has quickly become the staff favourite. He takes Husk Signature ACR rum, soaks it in Caramello Koalas (yes, really), then clarifies it for a smooth and delicious twist on the classic. It’s fun and refined at the same time – very Husk.

And for the espresso martini lovers, meet the Orange Cloud Espresso. Think silky orange cream, a dusting of Toblerone, Mr Black coffee liqueur and our own Husk Bam Bam spiced rum. It’s a little indulgent, a little cheeky and right on trend with the foam-topped coffee drinks everyone is loving right now.

If you prefer to stick with the favourites, don’t worry: the Ink & Elderflower Fizz and our Cane Fields (made with Husk Pure Cane rum, mango and macadamia) aren’t going anywhere. Rory won’t let us take them off the list – and honestly, we don’t want to.

Eat, sip and soak up the season

With long summer days stretching over the caldera, this is one of the most beautiful times to visit the distillery. Grab a table on the deck, wander the gardens, or book a tasting and make a day of it. Whether you’re here for the food, the cocktails, the view or all three – we’d love to welcome you in.
