10 of Byron Bay's best kept secrets

White's Beach

We're only giving you one of our secret local swimming spots, because otherwise we'll get in trouble. This is a relatively unknown swim spot, that will have your jaw on the ground. Wear suitable footwear as parking is a short 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Pack a picnic, a brolly and a book, you'll never want to leave.

Daughter in Law

The vibes are high and the colors are bright at this self proclaimed "unathentic Indian" restaurant by Jessi Singh. Blending traditional Indian flavors with locally sourced ingredients, this fun, upbeat restaurant has customers coming back again and again. It might also have something to do with their killer 80's playlist, or the barstaff who sporadically spray bubbles behind the bar.

Minyon Falls

If you thought all of Byrons best kept secrets were in the Byron CBD, think again. If you're keen to escape bustling Byron, head to Minyon Falls for a scenic 13km walk under the subtropical rainforest canopy and roaring waterfall (after we've had rain!).

Byron Fresh

Nestled amongst the busy and bustling beachside strip in Byron's CBD, Byron Fresh serves up delicious fresh meals and a killer cocktail menu. Sit down and enjoy a cocktail under the iconic peace-sign light, and watch the crowds walk by. Take in the sounds of neighbouring buskers and walk-off your food baby over the road along the beach.

Zephyr Horse Riding

Fully immerse yourself in your surrounds by joining a horseback tour of Byron’s subtropical woodlands, and beaches. Suitable for all levels of experience, what better way to see the area than on the back of a beautiful creature! It gets better, Zephyr Horses offer Beach Pub tours. Saddle up.

Byron Bay Lighthouse Picnic

This one might not be a secret, but we cannot recommend a sunset picnic enough. Grab some fresh oysters and raise a glass to Byron and all its beauty from the top of the town.

Byron Markets

The Byron Bay markets are a great way to see Byron's best all in the one space. With live music, food vans, a variety of retail stands and an all round good vibes - we're confident you'll have a blast as you walk through the colorful array of Byron's best creatives.

Wandana Brewery

A short drive from Byron in Mullumbimby you'll find Wandana Brewery, a small batch brewery with industrial surroundings and epic sunsets. If you don't mind a brewskie or twoskie, grab a tasting paddle and enjoy the groovy tunes and good company!

Brunswick Picture House

It'd be a crime not to include a drive to what the locals call "Bruns" on our list. The Brunswick Picture House showcases cinema classics, cabaret and comedy. There's something for everyone in this beautifully done 1950's house which oozes character.

Husk Farm Distillery

And last but not least, we invite you to visit Husk Farm Distillery. A scenic 40min drive from Byron, our beautiful distillery is nestled into the landscape on our family farm in North Tumbulgum. At the cellar door you’ll discover new ways to enjoy Ink Gin and discover the new taste of Australian rum - Husk Rum. Stroll through the grounds, stay for cocktails and a bite to eat, or book a ticketed tour or experience.
