Fresh Flavours of the Tweed.

Harriet’s current favourite restaurants in the Tweed

We have so many amazing restaurants in the Tweed that aren’t on this list (hello Pipit, Tweed River House & Taverna, I love you all!). However, these are the four that have been on high rotation for me lately.

1. Best for Date Night Bistro Livi (Murwillumbah)

Located in an Art Deco building within Murwillumbah’s M-Arts precinct, Bistro Livi offers refined modern Australian cuisine that punches above its regional postcode.

The service is impeccable and the team is lovely. They serve up unexpected share plates crafted with precision and technique, have a considered wine list and an intimate atmosphere- perfect for anniversaries, birthdays or a treat-yourself night out.

2. Best for a group dinner with friends: No. 35 Kitchen and Bar (Cabarita Beach)

At No. 35 you’ll find a relaxed but stylish setting, share-friendly Italian-ish fare, and easy-going vibes that cater well to small groups. They also have great Happy Hour snacks and cocktails if you come early.

Located at 35 Tweed Coast Road, Cabarita Beach, its spacious design and generous menu make it a lovely choice when dining with friends or family.

3. Worth the Drive: Continental Deli (Mullumbimby)

Okay, technically it’s just outside the Tweed - but Continental Deli in Mullumbimby deserves an honourable mention as I’ve been spending quite a bit of time there this year!

This effortlessly cool neighbourhood bistro and wine bar serves up Mediterranean-leaning small plates, killer martinis, and a perfectly curated drinks list.

They of course pour the full range of Ink Gin and Husk Rum and have excellent cocktails. Think late-afternoon sunlight, good music, and locals who really know their food. You can text to book in, or just turn up.

4. Best Lunch In Town: Husk Farm Distillery

I’d be remiss not to mention my own joint! Our on-site restaurant at Husk Farm Distillery is so beautiful, with our kitchen garden and rolling paddock views. It’s unbeatable for long lunches in the Tweed, with the bonus of being family and pet friendly. Our Head Chef brings Thai twists to modern Australian classics, that are packed with flavour and always a little unexpected.

DINNER AT HUSK: Once a month we stay up late. On the first Saturday of each money we host a casual dinner pop up. The menu changes each season but think smashed New York style burgers in summer and hawker noodles in winter. Sign up to know what live music or special events are coming up at the distillery here.

No matter the occasion the Tweed has you covered. Get amongst it!
